The Thistle recreates an 80's Hit Record for Charity

by morean hamilton

Wow, the Hogmanay Party was a Brilliant Night - with its 80's Theme, it was a huge Hit with all who attended, some of the "outfits" were marvellous - Well Done All .

In the 80's there was a huge hit song - "99 Red Balloons - by Nena" - This year, The Thistle recreated this in style. Our customers generously got right into the spirit and bought Helium filled, Red Balloons - all with a tag attached, where thoughts and memories of absent friends were written.

At 11.45 pm, our revellers all stood outside the pub and 100 or so Red balloons were released as one, it was a wonderful sight and a very touching moment. £200 was raised, and matched by The Thistle - so, £400 will be winging its way very soon to Ayrshire Cancer Support - Thank you to All who gave generously and with the feedback we received - this looks like it could become an Annual Fundraising Activity.

A very Happy New Year to All of Hurlford from Wullie and Morean and the Team at The Thistle
